5 Stunning Reasons Why You’re Not Getting Leads

1. You are promoting a website rather than a Landing Page (also known as a Squeeze Page).

A captivating landing page is required to generate leads. It is exactly as it sounds. You promote your landing page, people LAND on it, see your offer, and give you their contact information so they can learn more about what you have to offer. A standard website simply cannot do this; most websites are too busy, too generic, or too “professional.” A landing page, on the other hand, screams benefit! It tells readers what they will receive (SOMETHING AMAZING), but they must act quickly!

Landing pages are PACKED with benefits and short, punchy copy that grabs the reader’s attention. Landing pages include a limited-time offer as well as a form that must be completed in order to receive the offer. What are you doing with that lead form? ENTIRELY! You are generating a LEAD and gathering the necessary follow-up information to provide the requested material/product, then following up and building your house list in order to send future offers to that person.

Did you catch the part about creating a list? That was slipped in at the end, but it is VERY IMPORTANT. A Landing Page must ALWAYS ALWAYS provide readers with the option to SUBSCRIBE to your newsletter/or future offers. You’ve worked hard to generate that lead, so do everything you can to give them the opportunity to receive future offers or mailings from you.

2. Your promotional copy is uninteresting.

If you haven’t noticed, you have a lot of competition out there. The internet is teeming with gadgets and gizmos. Your copy must be noticed or it will perish in the email trash folder. Whether your offer is an email, a landing page, or an online post, you must start with a strong headline and follow up with copy that keeps people reading.

Most affiliate companies will provide you with excellent promotional copy or banners. If rewriting something better is not your strong suit, use what they provide, copy, paste, and send. Reduce the number of steps.

3. You have yet to make an offer.

You MUST, MUST, MUST make an offer if you want to get leads. Whatever your pitch is, REWARD the person reading it for taking action RIGHT NOW, TODAY, or within the next 24 hours! Instill a sense of urgency and excitement. You’ve got a fantastic product or service, right? You don’t want people to click away and move on to something else.

You want and need people to read your offer and RESPOND to it Give them compelling reasons to do so. You’re at a loss for what to say. Look for online products and affiliates that include Private Label and resell rights; if they do, you can leverage those in your offers. By incorporating these, you can transform a lukewarm offer into one that is HOT, HOT, HOT.

4. You’re not marketing to the right people in the right places.

Many people who are new to online marketing make the mistake of spending money on advertising or leads that do not produce results. Taking shortcuts and purchasing large quantities of leads or lists simply does not work. That is something I will repeat. Stop right now if you believe you will generate QUALITY leads by purchasing mass lists, visitors, subscribers, or hits.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but building an online business necessitates locating the best places to advertise that specifically target YOUR market. If you’re on a tight budget, don’t start with Google. Safelist marketing, Traffic Exchanges, Solo Ads, Ad Swaps, and email marketing providers such as Aweber and GetResponse are all options in the business opportunity market. Your online promotion budget does not have to be large, but paid ads from reputable sources will yield the best results. Do your research.

5. You’re so busy copying, pasting, and promoting that you’ve forgotten one of the most important business rules.

Personality can make or break a situation. Making sales is all about connecting with people. Don’t forget to be a REAL PERSON as you build your online business. Include your name, email address, Skype number, Facebook page, and other contact information in your ad copy to assure people that you are more than just a promoter, but also an online business owner. Anything you can do to stand out and differentiate yourself from the other offers out there is beneficial.
